The Restriction of Content Keywords Hinders Writing with Merlin AI
under review

I would like to request the removal of restrictions on specific flagged keywords when using Merlin AI. Currently, any mention of certain keywords results in the system flagging or rejecting the entire process, which creates significant difficulties in writing.
For example, in virtually every American novel or literary work, there is frequent use of terms that appear to trigger these keyword-based rejections. This restrictive filter makes it impossible to write creatively, especially when the content is both contextually appropriate and non-violent.
Such limitations greatly reduce the usability of AI for professional or creative projects. I ask for a revision of this mechanism, perhaps by implementing a clearer context-based review process or allowing flagged content to be bypassed under certain oversight conditions. This change would make Merlin AI significantly more effective for writers.

We're looking into this. Can you paste any such responses/keywords/shared chat links (as is possible on your end) in reply to this message?

I am working on a biography story, and the "self-inflicted demise" (of their reputation) is being flagged as what I suppose is self-harm? Either way, I get the "Watch out Arthur! Our filters have flagged your query!". That's ridiculous.

Agreed. I'm writing an academic paper on human sexuality intended for journal publication. I needed quick definitions of certain non-mainstream practices and rather than providing it's usual "no sexual content" message Merlin's response seemed "censored," inconsistent with my requirements.

Yes, please! I am trying to continue with my creative project and I can't because of this restriction. It's very frustrating not to be able to work with a tool that you've been paying for a whole year.
Thank you.

I couldn't agree more! This filter system make merlin AI unusable! It reject most of my story ideas, which are all appropriated, when the official chats of Claude and Chatgpt have no problem develop them! This make no sense !

I absolutely agree with you, the filter is terrible, considering that LLM has its own protection. Why reinvent the wheel?
