When Merlin selects other models I don't see the same issue, even in the longer thread where Gemini 3.1 Pro has used dollar signs in a weird way. Gemini 3.1 Pro also inserts "\mathrm{bar}$" in places. These chats often start with Gemini reporting the "Unexpected non-whitespace character after JSON". The dollar signs are very confusing when trying to read the information generated.
